The 9th Lattice Path Conference was held in hybrid form (given the circumstances of the global Covid pandemic) during 21-25 June 2021
at the Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques (CIRM) in Luminy, France.
In this preface, after a short presentation of the historical context of this conference,
we list its organizers, speakers, posters, participants.
We then present the articles published in this special issue.
