Comparison
between Principal Component Analysis and Formal Concept Analysis of Repertory Grids
Abstract.
We give a first comparison between the Principal Component Analysis
PCA ("one of the oldest and best known techniques of multivari- ate
analysis" according to I.T. Jolliffe) and a very young algebraic technique for
the visualization of data namely the Formal Concept Analysis FCA
by applying both methods to Repertory-Grid-Tests.
We demonstrate the efficiency of these methods using the
a particular grid of a 24 years old patient suffering from bulimia
nervosa.
