Ipe is a drawing program that has LaTeX integration and allows you to easily create good quality pdf pictures. Below are a couple of simple example figures produced using Ipe.
Ipe can also be used to make slides for presentations. When combined with pdfpc, videos can be embedded in the presentation pdf that can be played directly (without using external players). You can also create your CV using Ipe!
