Title:Invariant random positive definite functions and disintegration rigidity
Speaker: Vadim Alekseev, TU Dresden
Abstract: Character rigidity for discrete groups had received much attention in the recent years. In the ongoing joint project with Miklos Abert, Andreas Thom and Rahel Brugger, we study a refinement of character rigidity called decomposition rigidity -- it concerns the question, how a given character of the group (for instance, the regular one) can be decomposed into a conjugation-invariant combination of states (this realises the idea of "invariant random positive definite functions"). We generalise the techniques of Bachir Bekka and Jesse Peterson to allow for rigidity results in this context.
