Title: "Borel complexity theory and Gromov's
program."
Speaker: Martino Lupini
(Universität Wien)
Abstract:
I will present an introduction to Borel complexity theory. Subsequently I will explain how one can measure in this framework the complexity of Gromov's program of classifying finitely generated group up to quasi-isometry. Finally I will sketch the proofs of the known results in this directions, and present some ideas for further progress, aiming at settling a conjecture of Simon Thomas.
