START GRANT: Compact enumeration formulas for generalized partitions This webpage gives information on Ilse Fischer's research project Compact enumeration formulas for generalized partitions which is funded by the Austrian Science Foundation FWF in the framework of the Start Grant Y463-N13. The fundamental aim of the Start Programme is to promote "young" researchers through a substantial funding, which makes it possible to establish their own research group. To this end, see the job offering below!
Open PhD/PostDoc positions in Combinatorics, University of Vienna
One doctoral position and two postdoctoral positions in combinatorics are available at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna. The positions are within the framework of the Start Grant "Compact enumeration formulas for generalized partitions" which is funded by the Austrian Science Foundation FWF, led by Ilse Fischer and deals with recent topics in enumerative combinatorics and statistical physics.
Successful candidates will join the local combinatorics group

Both postdoctoral positions will be for a period of one year, with possible extension for up to three years. The doctoral position is for three years and suitable for a candidate who is interested in writing a doctoral thesis on a topic related to my research. Each position comes along with substantial travel funding and is available from May 1, 2010 (negotiable).
Applications, including CV, list of publications and the names of two references with their email-addresses, should be sent to
